SRP Offers Free Verano Sano Water Safety Events

Valley Wide Events for the Whole Family Offer Swimming and CPR Demonstrations, Lively Music and Exciting Giveaways

Summer is just around the corner and SRP has a great way to help families beat the heat. SRP’s Verano Sano offers free, fun and water safety-focused events at community pools throughout the Valley.

The event series will begin on May 17 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Families attending will receive free swimming and CPR demonstrations, learn how to properly adjust life jackets, and obtain important tips on how to stay safe around the water. Plus, families will also have a chance to win swimming lessons for children and fun prizes.

"In Arizona, drowning is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 4. Because SRP cares about our community and we have been bringing water to the valley for many years, we are committed to keeping families safe around water,” said Rori Minor, Community Engagement Strategist at SRP. "Verano Sano is a fun and free way for people to learn the basics of water safety and access resources."

All Verano Sano events feature fun giveaways, including free water safety coloring books, sunglasses, sunscreen, towels and more. A full list of the Verano Sano events is available by visiting  Special Offers, Discounts & Events (srpnet.com)

SRP partners participate in nearly 50 events around the Valley educating families on ways to stay safe around water and electricity.

SRP provides water to about half of the Valley’s residents, delivering more than 244 billion gallons of water (750,000 acre-feet) each year, and manages a 13,000-square-mile watershed that includes an extensive system of reservoirs, wells, canals and irrigation laterals.
