SRP Offers Annual Free Virtual Electrical Safety Workshops

Contractors Encouraged to Attend and Learn Life-Saving Work Habits

WHAT:
As the Valley’s water and power and water provider, Salt River Project always  seeks to educate our customers and the community about safety. In an effort to keep workers and the community safe, SRP invites construction workers, landscapers, painters and contract professionals to attend its annual free 2022 Electric Safety Workshop. It is a convenient way to learn how to stay safe on the job and around underground or overhead powerlines.

The bilingual, virtual workshop is available online 24/7, 365 days a year, but the certification quiz is scheduled for two events starting on February 26 and September 16, 2022. Each certification opportunity runs for two weeks, to sign up visit: srpnet.com/safetyworkshop.

SRP safety experts will offer life-saving information on the following topics:
Pre-job safety briefings
Overhead powerline clearances and underground electrical safety
Digging safely
Chain saw safety
Burn risk awareness
Trench and road safety
Step and touch potential
Tree-trimming and crane safety

DETAILS:
To sign up or learn more, visit srpnet.com/safetyworkshop or call (602) 236-2995. To receive a certificate of completion, participants must watch videos and complete a quiz. After finishing the quiz, participants will be entered to win prizes. Participants must be 18 or older.

SRP has been providing its Electrical Safety Workshop for more than 30 years to keep safety top of mind for workers who run the risk of electrocution if their bodies or any portion of their equipment comes within 10 feet of a powerline.

ADOT, Asplundh, Blue Stake and other Valley safety experts also provide training to help keep our community safe. Attendees are encouraged to attend the virtual event and share the recordings with co-workers.

INTERVIEWS:
