Tolleson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6310 Honors SRP with Purple Heart Advocacy Award

WHAT:

The Tolleson Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) “Bobby” Diaz Lopez Post 6310 will honor SRP with the Purple Heart Advocacy Award for their significant contributions to the veteran community. SRP provided essential resources and labor to prepare the parking lot grounds for the new VFW building, bringing the project a step closer to completion.

WHEN/WHERE:

  • November 7, 2024, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa , 9495 W Entertainment Blvd Glendale, AZ 85305

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Joseph Peña, Supervisor of Distribution Improvements at SRP
  • Ruben Quezada, Commander of Tolleson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6310
  • Members of the Tolleson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6310

 DETAILS:

Until recently, the VFW Post 6310 held meetings at senior centers and fire stations. In August 2021, the post started building their own facility, with veterans playing a big role in the construction. However, the veteran community faced a significant challenge with grading and preparing the parking lot, as it required more resources, equipment, and expertise than they had. SRP provided time, labor, dump trucks, front loaders, a water truck, and a grader, removing approximately 750 tons of dirt over the course of two weeks.
