SRP Seeks Additional Input on Planned Marigold Energy Center, Hosts July Open Houses

WHAT: 

Salt River Project (SRP) will host an additional in-person open house and virtual meeting to share information, seek public input and answer questions about the planned Marigold Energy Center in Stanfield, Arizona. 
The project may include various generating resources to help SRP strengthen the power grid and meet the growing energy demand across Maricopa and Pinal Counties.  

These resources could include: 

• A 230-kilovolt (kV)/500 kV substation
• Approximately 4 miles of new 230 kV transmission lines
• 600 megawatts (MW) of solar generation
• 400 MW of battery energy storage
• Up to 675 MW of natural gas generation
