SRP Offers Free Verano Sano Water Safety Events

Valley Wide Events an Opportunity for Swimming Lessons, CPR Demonstrations and More

With summer fast approaching, the need for water safety awareness and for people of all ages to stay vigilant and safe near water is especially high this time of year. That’s why SRP is launching Verano Sano, a series of free fun family events held at community pools across the Valley.

Beginning Saturday, May 6, at the Hamilton Aquatic Center in Chandler, Valley families can attend any of six water safety events where they can receive free swimming and CPR demonstrations. Participants also have the chance to receive free swimming lessons, life jackets and other valuable prizes.

“Unfortunately, the drowning rate in Arizona continues to be one of the highest in the nation,” said Rori Minor, Community Engagement Strategist for SRP. “Because SRP brings water to the Valley, we are committed to everyone’s safety around it. Verano Sano is a fun way for more people to learn about the basics of water safety.”

This Saturday’s event at the Hamilton Aquatic Center lasts from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and includes giveaways including free water safety coloring books, sunglasses, sunscreen, towels and more. After the festivities, families can stick around to enjoy a dive in movie at the pool. A full list of the Verano Sano events is available by visiting Special Offers, Discounts & Events (srpnet.com).
