SRP and Successful Impressions Hold College and Career Fairs to Advance Education and Employment Opportunities for Students in Northeastern Arizona

More than 250 high school students in Apache County recently attended college and career fairs designed to support educational development and career readiness in Arizona.

The career fairs, which were held on October 29 and 30 at Round Valley High School and St. Johns High School, were hosted by Successful Impressions, an organization that provides comprehensive career readiness resources to recent graduates and working professionals.  Salt River Project (SRP) sponsored both events.

“These college and career fairs show the students multiple paths they can take after graduation and expand their awareness of options for their futures,” said Stacie Garlieb, President, Successful Impressions.

Students met with representatives from two dozen colleges and organizations including the Department of Forestry, the Springerville and St. Johns Police Departments, Round Valley Medical, ASU, U of A and NAU and representatives from every branch of the U.S. Military to learn more about various educational and career pathways available to them.

“Attending a college and career fair provides our students with invaluable opportunities to explore diverse career paths, network with industry professionals, and gain insights into the skills and qualifications needed for their future careers,” said Steph Mouritsen, Principal, St. Johns High School. “These events not only help students make informed decisions about their post-secondary education and career choices but also build their confidence and professional skills. By engaging directly with potential employers and educational institutions, our students are better prepared to navigate the transition from high school to the next stages of their academic and professional journeys.”

This is the third year SRP has supported these important workforce development opportunities as part of its Coal Community Transition efforts in Apache County.
