Rob Taylor Named New SRP Chief Public Affairs Executive

Will Oversee Utility's Government Relations and Regulatory Matters

Salt River Project has named Rob Taylor as the new Associate General Manager and Chief Public Affairs Executive. Taylor will oversee federal, state and local government relations as well as federal and state regulatory matters, including reliability, compliance and consumer affairs.

Taylor rejoined SRP in October 2019 after spending nearly two years as the Director of Federal Regulatory Affairs and Compliance at Arizona Public Service (APS). Prior to his service at APS, he spent 14 years at SRP in multiple roles, including leading the SRP regulatory team.

“I am incredibly excited to be back at SRP in this role,” said Taylor. “SRP has played a critical role in the Valley’s history, and much of that role has been defined in the legislative and policy arena.”

Taylor’s career also includes practicing law at Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, where he focused on energy, public utility law and commercial real estate. Additionally, he served as legal counsel for the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee; as a legislative assistant to U.S. Sen. John McCain; and as a judicial law clerk in the Arizona Court of Appeals. Taylor received both his law and undergraduate degrees from Arizona State University.
